फिलहाल, कश्मीर 'चिल्लई कलां' (Chillai Kalan) की चपेट में है. चिल्लई कलां मौसम की 40 दिनों की वो अवधि होती है जब बर्फबारी की संभावना सबसे अधिक होती है. यहां 'चिल्लई कलां' 21 दिसंबर को शुरू होता है और 30 जनवरी को समाप्त होता है.
