इजराइल की कैबिनेट ने 1973 में योम किप्पुर युद्ध के बाद पहली बार आधिकारिक तौर पर जंग का ऐलान किया है. इज़राइल में अनुच्छेद 40 एलेफ़ को लागू कर दिया गया है. इजराइल की राज्य सुरक्षा कैबिनेट ने हमास और फिलिस्तीनी हमले के खिलाफ कल रात स्टेट वार की घोषणा की थी. हालांकि लगातार हमले ने इझराइल को अब पूर्ण युद्ध की स्थिति में डाल दिया है.
इजरायल और हमास के बीच जारी युद्ध में सैकड़ों लोगों की मौत हो चुकी है. शुरुआत हमास के आतंकियों ने की. पलटवार करते हुए इजरायल ने गाजा पट्टी पर हवाई हमले किए. हमास की बड़े पैमाने पर हुई घुसपैठ में कम से कम 600 लोग मारे गए हैं. वहीं इजराइल के हमले में गाजा के करीब 300 लोगों की मौत हो चुकी है.
