Surat Court Dismisses Rahul Gandhi's Plea: मोदी सरनेम मामले में सूरत की सत्र अदालत से राहुल गांधी (Rahul Gandhi) को बड़ा झटका लगा है. सूरत की लोवर कोर्ट की तरफ मोदी सरनेम मामले में सुनाये गए दो साल की सजा पर रोक लगाने की उनकी याचिका पर रोक लगाने से इनकार करने के बाद कोर्ट ने उनकी याचिका ख़ारिज कर दी है. जिसके बाद कहा जा रहा है कि राहुल गांधी सत्र अदालत के बाद गुजरात हाई कोर्ट में अपनी सजा के खिलाफ याचिका दायर कर सकते हैं.

बता दें कि राहुल गांधी 2019 के लोकसभा चुनाव में केरल के वायनाड से सांसद बने थे. 23 मार्च को सूरत की अदालत ने बीजेपी के विधायक पूर्णेश मोदी की ओर से दायर आपराधिक मानहानि के मामले में राहुल गांधी को दोषी करार देते हुए दो साल की सजा सुनाया था. राहुल गांधी को दो साल के जेल की सजा भी सुनाई गई थी. राहुल गांधी ने प्रधानमंत्री नरेंद्र मोदी पर हमला बोलते हुए कहा था कि सारे चोरों के सरनेम में मोदी क्यों होता है. इसके खिलाफ पूर्णेश मोदी ने केस दर्ज करा दिया था.
