Centre Opposes Legal Recognition Of Same-Sex Marriage: केंद्र सरकार ने सुप्रीम कोर्ट में समलैंगिक विवाह को मान्यता देने वाली याचिका पर हलफनामा दाखिल किया है. केन्द्र ने समलैंगिक विवाह को मान्यता दिए जाने का विरोध किया है. सरकार ने कहा "समान सेक्स संबंध की तुलना भारतीय परिवार की पति, पत्नी से पैदा हुए बच्चों के कॉनसेप्ट से नहीं की जा सकती."

अपने 56 पेज के हलफनामे में सरकार ने कहा है कि "कानून में उल्लेख के मुताबिक भी समलैंगिक विवाह को मान्यता नहीं दी जा सकती. क्योंकि उसमे पति और पत्नी की परिभाषा जैविक तौर पर दी गई है. उसी के मुताबिक दोनों के कानूनी अधिकार भी हैं. समलैंगिक विवाह में विवाद की स्थिति में पति और पत्नी को कैसे अलग- अलग माना जा सकेगा?. केंद्र ने सभी समलैंगिक विवाह से जुड़ी 15 याचिकाओं का विरोध किया. सुप्रीम कोर्ट मामले में अगली सुनवाई सोमवार को करेगा.
