विदेश मंत्री जयशंकर ने आगे कहा कि आज, मैं वास्तव में ऐसी स्थिति में हूं जहां मेरे राजनयिक कनाडा में दूतावास या वाणिज्य दूतावास में जाने में असुरक्षित हैं. उन्हें सार्वजनिक रूप से डराया जाता है और इसने वास्तव में मुझे कनाडा में वीज़ा संचालन को भी अस्थायी रूप से निलंबित करने के लिए मजबूर किया है.

खालिस्तानी आतंकी हरदीप सिंह निज्जर की हत्या के बाद से ही भारत और कनाडा के रिश्तों में तनाव जारी है. पिछले दिनों पीएम जस्टिन ट्रूडो ने भारतीय एजेंसियों पर इस हत्या में शामिल होने का आरोप लगाया था, जिसे भारत ने सिरे से खारिज कर दिया.
