कर्नाटक: मांड्या के पांडवपुरा जिले के पास नहर में कार गिरने से कम से कम पांच लोगों की मौत हो गई. पुलिस को सूचना मिलने के बाद बचाव अभियान शुरू किया गया. मांड्या के डिप्टी कमिश्नर कुमार ने बताया कि विश्वेश्वरैया नहर से पांच शव और शिवमोग्गा जिले के पंजीकरण नंबर वाली कार बरामद की गई है. उन्होंने कहा, "प्रथम दृष्टया यह लापरवाही से गाड़ी चलाने का मामला लगता है."
हादसा शाम करीब पांच बजे हुआ. पुलिस ने मृतकों की पहचान चंद्रप्पा, धनंजय, कृष्णप्पा और जयन्ना के रूप में की है. वे भद्रावती के मूल निवासी थे और बिलिकेरे के एक होटल में दोपहर का भोजन करने के बाद तुमकुरु जिले के तिप्तूर जा रहे थे.शवों को पांडवपुरा सरकारी अस्पताल के शवगृह में भेज दिया गया है.
