सहवाग, वाशिम जफ्फर और दिनेश कार्तिक ने आड़े हाथ लिया, गाबा के पिच पर सवाल उठाते हुए ऑस्ट्रेलिया पर निशाना साधा.
ऑस्ट्रेलिया ने ब्रिस्बेन में पहले टेस्ट मैच में साउथ अफ्रीका को छह विकेट से हराकर सीरीज में 1-0 से बढ़त बना ली है. टॉस जीत कर ऑस्ट्रेलिया ने दक्षिण अफ्रीका को पहले बल्लेबाजी करने के लिए कहा , जिसमे दक्षिण अफ्रीका को पहले दिन केवल 152 रनों पर समेट दिया गया. जवाब में ऑस्ट्रेलिया ने 218 रन बनाए और दुसरे पारी में 66 रन बनाकर जीत दर्ज कर ली. जबकि दक्षिण अफ्रीका केवल 99 रन ही बना सका और ऑस्ट्रेलिया को 35 रन का एक छोटा सा लक्ष्य दिया. चार विकेट खोने के बावजूद ऑस्ट्रेलिया ने काफी आराम से इसका पीछा किया और केवल दो दिनों के भीतर जीत हासिल कर ली.
जिसके बाद सहवाग, वाशिम जफ्फर और दिनेश कार्तिक ने आड़े हाथ लिया, गाबा के पिच पर सवाल उठाते हुए ऑस्ट्रेलिया पर निशाना साधा.
