असम सरकार ने UCC की ओर पहला कदम बढ़ा दिया है. हिमंता सरकार ने मुस्लिम मैरिज और डिवोर्स एक्ट 1935 को खत्म करने का फैसला लिया है. इस फैसले पर एआईएमआईएम चीफ असदुद्दीन ओवैसी ने अपनी प्रतिक्रिया देते हुए नाराजगी जताईं हैं. उन्होंने कहा कि, मुस्लिमों को उनके रिलिजन से दूर करने कि साजिश सरकार कि ओर से की जा रही हैं.
असम सरकार ने UCC की ओर पहला कदम बढ़ा दिया है. हिमंता सरकार ने मुस्लिम मैरिज और डिवोर्स एक्ट 1935 को खत्म करने का फैसला लिया है. इस फैसले पर एआईएमआईएम चीफ असदुद्दीन ओवैसी ने अपनी प्रतिक्रिया देते हुए नाराजगी जताईं हैं. उन्होंने कहा कि, मुस्लिमों को उनके रिलिजन से दूर करने कि साजिश सरकार कि ओर से की जा रही हैं. उन्होंने कहा कि असम में बीजेपी सरकार ने मुस्लिम विवाह अधिनियम को खत्म कर दिया है. पहले, विवाह का रजिस्ट्रेशन 'काजी' या विवाह रजिस्ट्रार के माध्यम से किया जाता था, और लोगों को विवाह प्रमाण पत्र मिलता था, अब उन्होंने उस प्रणाली को हटा दिया है, स्पेशल मैरिज एक्ट में 'निकाह' का कोई प्रावधान नहीं है, जो मुस्लिमों का धार्मिक अधिकार है.
