अमेरिका में भारतवंशी अरुणा मिलर मैरीलैंड की लेफ्टिनेंट गवर्नर बनी हैं. अरुणा मिलर मैरीलैंड हाउस ऑफ डेलिगेट्स का सदस्य भी रह चुकी हैं.
अमेरिका में भारतवंशी अरुणा मिलर मैरीलैंड की लेफ्टिनेंट गवर्नर बनी हैं. अरुणा को डेमोक्रेट पार्टी लेफ्टिनेंट गवर्नर पद के लिए अपना प्रत्याशी बनाया था. उन्होंने अपने निकटतम प्रतिद्वंद्वी को हरा कर गर्वनर हाउस पहुंचने वाली पहली प्रवासी महिला बन गई हैं.
अरुणा मिलर मैरीलैंड हाउस ऑफ डेलिगेट्स का सदस्य भी रह चुकी हैं. उन्होंने साल 2018 में संसदीय चुनाव भी लड़ा था, लेकिन प्राइमरी में ही उन्हें हार का मुंह देखना पड़ा था. इसके बाद इस साल उन्हें गवर्नर पद के लिए उम्मीदवार बनाया गया था. उनकी नीतियों का ही असर है कि इस चुनाव में उन्हें जीत हासिल हुई.
