केरल हाईकोर्ट ने एक सुनवाई के दौरान कहा, "आजकल, युवा पीढ़ी सोचती है कि विवाह एक ऐसी बुराई है जिसे बिना किसी दायित्व या दायित्वों के मुक्त जीवन का आनंद लेने के लिए टाला जा सकता है. वे 'वाइफ इन्वेस्टमेंट फॉर एवर' की पुरानी अवधारणा को बदलकर 'वाइफ' शब्द को 'एवर इनवाइटेड फॉर एवर' समझने लगे हैं."
