भारतीय ओलंपिक संघ (आईओए) की अध्यक्ष पीटी उषा ने भारतीय कुश्ती महासंघ (डब्ल्यूएफआई) के प्रमुख बृजभूषण शरण सिंह के खिलाफ अपनी शिकायत दर्ज कराने के बजाय अपने विरोध प्रदर्शन को फिर से शुरू करने के लिए सड़कों पर उतरने के लिए पहलवानों की कड़ी आलोचना की थी.
ओलंपिक स्वर्ण पदक विजेता नीरज चोपड़ा और अभिनव बिंद्रा ने प्रदर्शनकारी पहलवानों के प्रति समर्थन व्यक्त करते हुए न्याय सुनिश्चित करने के लिए अधिकारियों से त्वरित कार्रवाई करने की मांग की. उसके बाद भारतीय एथलिट को अलग- अलग खेल के दिग्गजों से समर्थन मिलाना शुरू हो गया है. जैसे सानिया मिर्जा, वीरेन्द्र सहवाग, इरफ़ान पठान, हरभजन सिंह और कपिल देव इत्यादि. इन स्टार खिलाड़ियों की प्रतिक्रिया ऐसे समय में आई है जबकि भारतीय ओलंपिक संघ (आईओए) की अध्यक्ष पीटी उषा ने भारतीय कुश्ती महासंघ (डब्ल्यूएफआई) के प्रमुख बृजभूषण शरण सिंह के खिलाफ अपनी शिकायत दर्ज कराने के बजाय अपने विरोध प्रदर्शन को फिर से शुरू करने के लिए सड़कों पर उतरने के लिए पहलवानों की कड़ी आलोचना की थी.
