नीरज चोपड़ा आज, 27 अगस्त को लुसाने डायमंड लीग 2022 में जेवलिन थ्रो इवेंट में पहले स्थान पर रहे. भारतीय ऐस एथलीट ने इस टूर्नामेंट में फाइनल इवेंट के लिए क्वालीफाई किया. चोपड़ा ने यहां स्विट्जरलैंड में शीर्ष पोडियम फिनिश पूरा करने के लिए 89.08 मीटर के लिए भाला फेंका. संयुक्त राज्य अमेरिका में विश्व एथलेटिक्स चैंपियनशिप में रजत पदक जीतने के बाद यह उनका अब तक का वर्ष का दूसरा पदक है. 23 वर्षीय खिलाड़ी ने इस थ्रो के बाद 2023 विश्व चैंपियनशिप के लिए क्वालीफाई कर लिया है.

फिट होकर लुसाने डायमंड लीग में लौटे नीरज चोपड़ा अपने पहले प्रयास में 89.08 मीटर तक पहुंचने में सफल रहे. वह अपने थ्रो से चार्ट में सबसे आगे रहे. जैकब वाडलेज 84.56 मीटर थ्रो के साथ दूसरे स्थान पर रहे.
