Asian Games 2023: साथियान ज्ञानसेकरन, अचंता शरथ कमल और हरमीत देसाई की भारतीय मेंस टेबल टेनिस टीम ने यमन को 3-0 से हराकर एशियाई खेलों में अपने अभियान की जोरदार शुरुआत की. जीएसपी जिम्नेजियम टेबल 7 पर खेलते हुए, भारत ने अपने अभियान के शुरुआती मैच में यमन को ध्वस्त कर दिया. साथियान ने मुकाबले का पहला मैच जीतकर यमन के अली उमर अहमद पर केवल 13 मिनट में 11-3,11-2,11-6 से जीत दर्ज की. इस जीत से भारत को 1-0 की बढ़त मिल गई. मुकाबले के दूसरे मैच में शरथ ने शानदार प्रदर्शन करते हुए 11-3, 11-4, 11-6 से जीत हासिल की और भारत को यमन पर 2-0 की बढ़त दिलाने में मदद की. भारतीय शीर्ष खिलाड़ी को यमन के इब्राहिम अब्दुलहकीम मोहम्मद गुब्रान की चुनौती को विफल करने में केवल 17 मिनट लगे.
