लैंसेट पत्रिका में प्रकाशित एक नए अध्ययन में खुलासा हुआ है कि मंकीपॉक्स वायरस से संक्रमित मरीज के ठीक होने के बाद हफ्तों तक यह वायरस वीर्य में बना रह सकता है, ऐसे में कहा जा रहा है कि यह सेक्स के जरिए फैल सकता है.
Monkeypox: दुनिया के कई देशों में मंकीपॉक्स (Monkeypox) का खतरा बढ़ता ही जा रहा है. राजधानी दिल्ली में एक नाइजीरियाई महिला में संक्रमण की पुष्टि होने के बाद यहां संक्रमितों की संख्या बढ़कर चार हो गई है. दिल्ली में नए संक्रमण की पुष्टि होने के बाद देश में मंकीपॉक्स के मरीजों की संख्या बढ़कर 9 हो गई है. संक्रमण के शुरुआती दौर में डॉक्टरों का अनुमान था कि यह बीमारी ड्रॉपलेट्स से फैलती है, लेकिन इसके बाद अध्ययन में यह पता चला कि यह संक्रमण सेक्स के जरिए भी फैल सकता है. इस मुद्दे पर विशेषज्ञों के बीच लंबे समय से बहस चल रही है कि मंकीपॉक्स एक यौन संचारित रोग (Sexually Transmitted Disease) है या नहीं. अब लैंसेट पत्रिका में प्रकाशित एक नए अध्ययन में खुलासा हुआ है कि मंकीपॉक्स वायरस से संक्रमित मरीज के ठीक होने के बाद हफ्तों तक यह वायरस वीर्य में बना रह सकता है. इसका मतलब यह हो सकता है कि यह वायरस सेक्स (Sex) के जरिए फैल सकता है.
