राहुल गांधी ने आज बेंगलुरु के प्रतिष्ठित एयरलाइंस होटल में डंजो, स्विगी, जोमाटो, ब्लिंकिट आदि के गिग वर्कर्स और डिलीवरी पार्टनर्स के साथ खुलकर बातचीत की. एक कप कॉफी और मसाला डोसा के ऊपर, उन्होंने डिलीवरी कर्मचारियों के जीवन, स्थिर रोजगार की कमी और बुनियादी वस्तुओं की बढ़ती कीमतों पर चर्चा की. उन्होंने यह भी उत्सुकता से सुना कि इन युवाओं ने गिग जॉब्स क्यों ली हैं, और उनके काम करने की स्थिति कैसी थी. राहुल ने डिलीवरी बॉय के स्कूटर पर करीब 2 किलोमीटर तक सवारी की, जिसका वीडियो भी सामने आया है.

अकेले बेंगलुरु में 2,00,000+ लोग गिग जॉब कर रहे हैं. कांग्रेस पार्टी ने उनके लिए अपने घोषणापत्र में विशिष्ट वादे किए हैं. जैसे- 3,000 करोड़ के कोष के साथ गिग वर्कर्स वेलफेयर बोर्ड की स्थापना करना और असंगठित क्षेत्र के गिग श्रमिकों और अन्य श्रमिकों के लिए न्यूनतम प्रति घंटा मजदूरी सुनिश्चित करना
