बीजिंग में आयोजित होने वाले 139वें IOC सत्र में सफलतापूर्वक बोली लगाने के बाद 2023 में अंतर्राष्ट्रीय ओलंपिक समिति के अगले सत्र की मेजबानी के लिए मुंबई को आधिकारिक तौर पर चुना गया है. महाराष्ट्र के सीएम उद्धव ठाकरे ने यह जानकारी दी.

CM ने ट्वीट किया, "मुंबई 2023 अंतर्राष्ट्रीय ओलंपिक समिति सत्र की मेजबानी करना न केवल बहुत गर्व की बात है, बल्कि भारत को खेल के क्षितिज पर आगे बढ़ाने का अवसर भी है. 2023 के सत्र को मुंबई, महाराष्ट्र में लाने के लिए श्रीमती नीता अंबानी जी के प्रयासों के लिए आभारी हैं!"
