तुर्की और सीरिया में भूकंप के बाद मलबे से निकल रहे शवों को देखकर दुनिया दहल गई है. दोनों देश भूकंप के बाद अब बाढ़ का कहर भी झेल रहे हैं. तमाम गांव पानी में डूब गये हैं. बाढ़ के बीच रेस्क्यू ऑपरेशन एक बड़ी चुनौती बन गया है. तुर्की-सीरिया भूकंप से मरने वालों का आकड़ा अब 24,000 को पार कर गई है.
खराब सर्दियों की स्थिति में सैकड़ों हजारों लोग बेघर हो गए हैं और भोजन की कमी हो गई है. संयुक्त राष्ट्र ने चेतावनी दी है कि पूरे तुर्की और सीरिया में कम से कम 8,70,000 लोगों को तत्काल गर्म भोजन की आवश्यकता है. अकेले सीरिया में, 5.3 मिलियन लोगों बेघर हो सकते हैं.
