26 फरवरी (रविवार) को तुर्की और सीरिया में विनाशकारी भूकंप से प्रभावित बच्चों की मदद के लिए तुर्की फुटबॉल क्लब बेसिकटास के प्रशंसकों ने फ्रापोर्ट टीएवी एंटाल्यास्पोर के खिलाफ मैच के दौरान मैदान पर हजारों आलीशान खिलौनों के ढेर लगा दिए. इस्तांबुल के वोडाफोन पार्क में बेसिक्तास और एंटाल्यास्पोर के बीच रविवार का मैच तुर्की के दक्षिणी क्षेत्र में तीन हफ्ते पहले आए भूकंप की याद में शुरू होने के बाद 4 मिनट 17 सेकंड पर रोक दिया गया था. प्रशंसकों ने हजारों आलीशान खिलौने और स्कार्फ फेंके. खिलाड़ी और कर्मचारी उन्हें लेने के लिए मैदान पर पहुंचे. खिलौने भूकंप से प्रभावित बच्चों को भेजे जाएंगे. 6 फरवरी को दक्षिणी तुर्किये को हिलाकर रख देने वाले दो शक्तिशाली भूकंपों में कम से कम 44,374 लोग मारे गए थे.
