शुक्रवार को जर्मन पुलिस ने बताया कि बर्लिन में विशाल एक्वेरियम फट गया, जिससे समुंद्री लाइफ पर्यटक आकर्षण केंद्र उसके आसपास तबाही मच गयी. इमारत से कांच और अन्य मलबा बह गया, जिसमें एक होटल और कैफे भी शामिल है, क्योंकि सुबह 6 बजे (0500GMT) से पहले 25-मीटर (82-फुट) -ऊँचे एक्वेरियम से 1 मिलियन लीटर पानी बह गया. बर्लिन की दमकल सेवा ने कहा कि दो लोग मामूली रूप से घायल हुए हैं और मलबे में फंसे किसी भी व्यक्ति की तलाश के लिए बचाव दल के कुत्तों को इमारत की तलाशी के लिए तैयार किया जा रहा है.
