यूक्रेन के राष्ट्रपति वोलोदिमिर जेलेंस्की को यूरोपीय संसद में संबोधन के बाद स्टैंडिंग ओवेशन मिला. इस दौरान तालियों की गड़गड़ाहट से पूरा हॉल गूंज उठा. ज्ञात हो कि जेलेंस्की ने यूक्रेन के यूरोपीय संघ सदस्यता आवेदन पर हस्ताक्षर किए हैं. सोमवार की सुबह जेलेंस्की ने एक विशेष प्रक्रिया के तहत यूक्रेन के परिग्रहण के संबंध में यूरोपीय संघ को संबोधित किया. जेलेंस्की के अनुसार, यूक्रेनी यूरोपीय संघ की सदस्यता के पात्र हैं. रूस के आक्रमण के बाद यूरोपीय संघ के कई देशों ने यूरोपीय संघ से यूक्रेन को सदस्यता के लिए एक मार्ग देने का आह्वान किया और स्लोवाकिया ने यूरोपीय संघ में यूक्रेन के प्रवेश के लिए एक विशेष प्रक्रिया का प्रस्ताव रखा.
