उत्तर प्रदेश के अमेठी दौरे पर गए कांग्रेस नेता राहुल गांधी ने प्रधानमंत्री नरेन्द्र मोदी पर निशाना साधते हुए कहा “मैंने पहली बार गंगा में सिर्फ एक व्यक्ति को स्नान करते देखा है. योगी जी को हटाया, राजनाथ सिंह को दरकिनार किया.” उन्होंने कहा “हिंदुत्ववादी गंगा में अकेला स्नान करता है और हिन्दू करोड़ों लोगों के साथ गंगा में स्नान करता है. हिंदुत्ववादी झूठ का प्रयोग करता है, हिंदुत्ववादी अपने डर के सामने अपना सिर झुकाता है, हिंदुत्ववादी अपने डर को नफरत और हिंसा में बदलता है. हिंदुत्ववादी गंगा में अकेला स्नान करता है और हिन्दू करोड़ों लोगों के साथ गंगा में स्नान करता है.”
