कछुए दिसंबर में आंध्र प्रदेश तट के किनारे अंडे देते हैं. जिसके बाद वन विभाग जैसी प्रयोगशालाएं अंडे इकट्ठा करती हैं, उन्हें कृत्रिम हैचिंग के लिए संरक्षित स्थान पर संग्रहीत करती हैं और 40-45 दिनों के अंतराल के बाद बच्चे के कछुओं को छोड़ देती हैं.
