मुंबई के जोगेश्वरी इलाके में 8 साल की बच्ची से रेप का मामला सामने आया है. आरोपी 53 साल का शख्स है. आरोपी और पीड़िता एक ही इमारत में रहते थे और लड़की की मां काम पर जाते समय बच्चे को आरोपी के घर पर छोड़कर जाती थी क्योंकि घर पर उसकी देखभाल के लिए कोई नहीं था. कुछ दिन पहले लड़की ने आपबीती अपनी मां को बताई, जिसके बाद मां ने थाने में शिकायत दर्ज कराई. पुलिस ने आईपीसी की धारा 376 और POCSO अधिनियम के तहत मामला दर्ज किया और आरोपी को गिरफ्तार कर लिया.
