चीन में H3N8 बर्ड फ्लू (Bird Flu) से एक महिला की मौत हो गई. इस बात की पुष्टि विश्व स्वास्थ्य संगठन ने की है. यह एवियन इन्फ्लूएंजा तनाव से पहली ज्ञात मानव मृत्यु है. डब्ल्यूएचओ ने पुष्टि की कि दक्षिणी चीन में एच3एन8 एवियन इन्फ्लूएंजा के लिए सकारात्मक परीक्षण करने वाली महिला को गंभीर निमोनिया (pneumonia) के कारण अस्पताल में भर्ती कराया गया और उसकी मृत्यु हो गई. महिला को मल्टीपल मायलोमा सहित कई पहले से मौजूद स्वास्थ्य स्थितियां थीं. महिला को “गंभीर तीव्र श्वसन संक्रमण (severe acute respiratory infection) (SARI) का पता चला था. डब्ल्यूएचओ ने अपडेट में कहा, मामले के किसी भी करीबी संपर्क ने रिपोर्टिंग के समय संक्रमण या बीमारी के लक्षण विकसित नहीं किए.
