गौरतलब है कि अश्विन भारत के लिए सबसे तेज 500 टेस्ट विकेट लेने वाले दसरे गेंदबाज बन गए हैं. उन्होंने यह उपलब्धि सिर्फ 98 टेस्ट मैचों में हासिल की है. उन्होंने अनिल कुंबले के रिकॉर्ड को तोड़ा है, जिन्होंने 105 टेस्ट मैचों में यह उपलब्धि हासिल की थी.
