बीजेपी नेता सुब्रमण्यम स्वामी ने ट्वीट कर कहा, 'आज मैं किसी ऐसे व्यक्ति से मिला जो हाल ही में एससीओ की बैठक में भाग लेने के लिए समरकंद गया था. भारत के मीडिया ने खबर दी थी कि सम्मेलन में या बाहर मोदी ने शी (चीन के राष्ट्रपति शी जिनपिंग) से मुलाकात नहीं की. सच तो यह है कि वे एक कमरे में मिले थे. जनहित में मोदी को बैठक का रिकॉर्ड सार्वजनिक करना चाहिए.'
