पश्चिम बंगाल में विधानसभा चुनाव के नतीजे आने के बाद से व्यापक पैमाने पर हिंसा देखने को मिली जिसमें कथित तौर पर झड़प और दुकानों को लूटे जाने के दौरान कई भाजपा कार्यकर्ताओं की मौत हो गई तो कई घायल हो गए. केंद्रीय गृह मंत्रालय ने राज्य सरकार से विपक्षी कार्यकर्ताओं पर हमले की घटना में तथ्यात्मक रिपोर्ट भी मांगी है.
