लोकसभा चुनाव से पहले पश्चिम बंगाल में तृणमूल कांग्रेस को बड़ा झटका लगा है. बैरकपुर से सांसद और बागी नेता अर्जुन सिंह के साथ एक और सांसद दिब्येंदु अधिकारी भारतीय जनता पार्टी (बीजेपी) में शामिल हो गए हैं.

बीजेपी में दोबारा शामिल होने के बाद अर्जुन सिंह कहते हैं, ''मैं 2019 में (बीजेपी से) सांसद बना और 2021 में...चुनाव के बाद हिंसा के बाद मुझे पार्टी कार्यकर्ताओं को बचाने के लिए बीजेपी से दूरी बनानी पड़ी.'' कई लोगों की हत्या कर दी गई...मैंने देखा कि टीएमसी सरकार पुलिस और गुंडों की मदद से सिर्फ सत्ता में रहना चाहती है. इसका सबसे ताजा उदाहरण हमने संदेशखाली में देखा. वहां सिर्फ एक ही संदेशखाली नहीं है, बंगाल के सीमावर्ती इलाकों में लोग इसी तरह रह रहे हैं संदेशखाली में वे..."
