दूरदर्शन आज बुधवार 15 सितंबर को स्वर्णिम इतिहास के 62 साल पूरे होने का जश्न मना रहा है. आज ही के दिन 1959, में, भारत के लोक सेवा प्रसारक को दिल्ली में लॉन्च किया गया था. 1959 में 15 सितंबर को सरकारी प्रसारक के तौर पर दूरदर्शन की स्थापना हुई. दूरदर्शन की शुरुआत के समय इसमें कुछ देर के लिए कार्यक्रमों का प्रसारण किया जाता था.
