श्रीलंका (Shri Lanka) स्थित पिनावाला हाथी अनाथालय (Elephant Orphanage) में एक हथिनी ने जुड़वा हाथियों को जन्म दिया है. 25 साल की सुरंगी (Surangi) नाम की हथिनी ने दो नर बछड़ों को जन्म दिया है. हथिनी और उसके दोनों बच्चे स्वस्थ हैं. वन्यजीव अधिकारियों के अनुसार, श्रीलंका के पिनावाला हाथी अनाथालय में लगभग 80 वर्षों में पहली बार जुड़वां हाथियों का जन्म हुआ है. विशेषज्ञों ने कहा कि पालतू हाथी के जुड़वां बच्चों का जन्म पिछली बार 1941 में हुआ था.
