पश्चिम बंगाल विधानसभा चुनाव में सत्तारूढ़ तृणमूल कांग्रेस फिर से सत्ता पर काबिज होती दिख रही है, जबकि असम में भाजपा की अगुवाई वाला राष्ट्रीय जनतांत्रिक गठबंधन और तमिलनाडु में विपक्षी द्रमुक नीत गठबंधन सरकार बनाने की और अग्रसर है. केरल में माकपा की अगुवाई वाला वाम लोकतांत्रिक मोर्चा (एलडीएफ) बहुमत के आंकड़े को पार कर चुकी है.
असम, पश्चिम बंगाल, केरल, तमिलनाडु और पुडुचेरी में विधानसभा चुनावों के वोटों की गिनती जारी, कांग्रेस सांसद राहुल गांधी ने DMK चीफ एमके स्टालिन को तमिलनाडु में जीत की बधाई दी है-
