राजदूत तरणजीत एस संधू (Ambassador Taranjit S Sandhu) ने सैन फ्रांसिस्को में गूगल के सीईओ सुंदर पिचाई (Google CEO Sundar Pichai) को पद्म भूषण (Padma Bhushan) सौंपा. इस दौरान तरणजीत एस संधू ने कहा "मदुरै से माउंटेन व्यू तक की उनकी प्रेरणादायक यात्रा, भारत-अमेरिका आर्थिक और तकनीकी को मजबूत करती है, संबंधों, वैश्विक नवाचार में भारतीय प्रतिभा के योगदान की पुष्टि करता है."

वहीं सुंदर पिचाई ने कहा, मैं इस अपार सम्मान के लिए भारत सरकार और भारत के लोगों का बहुत आभारी हूं. भारत मेरा एक हिस्सा है, और मैं गूगल और भारत के बीच महान साझेदारी को जारी रखने की उम्मीद करता हूं, क्योंकि हम प्रौद्योगिकी के लाभ लाने के लिए मिलकर काम करते हैं.
